A march to commemorate murdered Russian journalists was forbidden by Moscow authorities to avoid traffic jams in the city center, reports Mosnews.
The organizers planned to march in central Moscow to pay tribute to journalists who died on duty or murdered in retaliation for their work, including Anna Politkovskaya, shot dead on 7 October.
The list of journalists murdered in Russia includes the U.S.-born Paul Klebnikov, editor of Forbes Russia, killed in 2004; Valery Ivanov, editor of the newspaper Tolyatinskoye Oborzreniye (Togliatti Review), killed in 2002 in Togliatti; Larisa Yudina, editor of the newspaper Sovetskaya Kalmykia, stabbed to death in 1998 in Elista; famous TV journalist Vladislav Listyev, murdered in 1995 and many others.
