St. Petersburg flooded for 302nd time · 2007-01-10 18:29
According to emergency sources, St. Petersburg has been flooded, RIA Novosti informed.
It is the 302nd flood since the city was established in 1703 in the the delta of the Neva River. The most most devastating flood happened in 1824, when water rose to 421 centimeters above the control mark, killing some 200 people.
This time a storm warning has been announced in the city, the water level has risen up to 160 centimeters above normal.
