The Kamaz truck leader crashed out of the competition. The other Russian pilot, Ilgizar Mardeev is two hours behind the leading Hans Stacey on a MAN, Kommersant reported.
Dakar five-time champion Vladimir Chagin won two stages of the rally. On the fourth stage from Er Rachidia to Ouarzazateto on stony Moroccan Chagin's Kamaz got into a pit, injuring the team's navigator.
On the following day, the Chagin team face technical problems. The truck's fuel system broke down, and the team had to spend half an hour to repair it.
Later Vladimir Chagin collided into a three-meter stone fence at 120 km/hr. Chagin was diagnosed with brain concussion, mechanic Sergey Savostin ??“ with compression spine fracture. The team's navigator Semen Yakubov was slightly injured.
Kamaz's two other teams are still in the game, though their chances to win the race are low.
