Russia launches unmanned space ship to ISS · 2007-01-18 18:04
Russia launched an unmanned Progress cargo ship to the International Space Station (ISS), ITAR-Tass reported.
The Progress M-59 blast off from the Baikonour cosmodrome in Kazakhstan and entered orbit in 9 minutes. The space ship will arrive at the ISS in about two days, carrying more than two tons of supplies for the astronauts currently on board the space station.
The craft also holds letters and gifts from families of the astronauts – Commander Mike Lopez-Alegria and Sunita Williams of the U.S. and Mikhail Tyurin of Russia.
