Singer Beyonce was announced the “most desirable woman of 2006” in an annual reader survey released by Askmen.com.
Beyonce jumped from No. 50 last year to the top of AskMen’s list of “fantasy girlfriends” in 2007, as ranked by its readers—a majority of whom are men aged 18 to 34.
Scarlett Johansson is the second, followed by 2005 winner Jessica Alba, who slips two places to No. 3.
The voting process for this year’s edition of the Most Desirable Women list began in the fall of 2006, when a list of approximately 200 candidates was assembled. AskMen.com readers were then invited to vote for their favorite nominees, and they responded on a massive scale: More than 8.5 million votes were cast over a six week period.
