CSKA won in the first of central Russian soccer events in the season. The team shot the victory-bringing third ball into Spartak's gates in the final of First Channel's Cup in Tel-Aviv when the additional time was on the brink of running out.
CSKA was leading the game until the 70th minute, when Spartak was playing almost equally well. A Spartak player said after the match that CSKA players "were hardly running" at the end of the second time.
According to Kommersant, CSKA had to hold on for last five minutes, when Dmitry Torbinsky hit from the right, Egor Titov kicked the ball into Roman Pavlyuchenko, and the tournament's best player scored an equalizer.
Additional time brought the third goal to CSKA, making it the winner. Yet, Spartak showed it may have some arguments in fighting against the champion. Both teams demonstrated they have not failed their preparation to UEFA Cup tournaments.
