Russia-EU relations to be discussed in Moscow · 2007-02-05 12:52
Three European ministers are in Moscow to discuss energy co-operation with Russia. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is to meet the group which is widely known as the European Troika.
The trio is made up of the EU Commissioner for External Relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, The EU’s foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, and Germany’s Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Disagreements that have blocked the signing of the EU-Russia partnership agreement are also expected to be talked about at the meeting.
One of the obstacles is Russia’s ban on low quality meat from Poland.
In addition, some experts said Russia-EU relations are at an all time low and it may not be the right time to sign a co-operation agreement, Russia Today reports.
