Eight killed in fire in Russian Yekaterinburg · 2007-02-07 13:09
Eight people have been killed and twenty one injured in a fire that broke out at a factory in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg, a local rescue service said Wednesday.
The fire erupted Tuesday afternoon in a hangar leased to a businessman and used to store furniture.
Ten people were hospitalized and 11 others were treated at the site. Over seventy people were evacuated from the premises, RIA Novosti reports.
Firefighters only managed to put out the fire, which engulfed 1,500 square meters (4,500 square feet), early Wednesday.
