Actress and producer Salma Hayek is engaged and expecting her first baby, the BBC reported.
The announcement follows months of rumours that the Mexican-born actress was showing signs of being pregnant.
Salma Hayek, 40, is to wed French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault.
Hayek’s fiance is the chairman and chief executive of luxury goods company PPR, which owns designer labels including Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney and Balenciaga.
The Pinault family is believed to be one of France’s richest families. Her father-in-law-to-be, Francois Henri Pinault, is believed to be among the 75 richest people in the world.
Hayek is currently enjoying success as an executive producer on hit comedy drama Ugly Betty.
Hayek’s films include Frida, for which she received an Oscar nomination in 2002.
