Last weekend record producers examined the artists who compete to represent Russia at Eurovision song contest in Helsinki.
The jury, including composer Vladimir Matetsky and singer Larisa Dolina, will name the winner on Monday.
This year Sergey Lazarev, “Band ‘Eros” and “Serebro” compete for the ticket to Helsinki. “Serebro” is a new girl band, a project of a famous record producer Max Fadeev.
Russian singers have never won Eurovision contest, Alsou in 2000 and Dima Bilan with his song “Never Let You Go” in 2006 were the closest to the victory, both of them came second.
Meanwhile, Ukraine, after winning the Eurovision 2004, will try to get the prize back. Russia’s neighbor will be represented by Verka Serdyuchka, a cross-dressed TV personality who is immensely popular both in Ukraine and in Russia.
