The actress who plays Hermione Granger in Harry Potter films was approached by an obsessed Harry Potter fan at her school, Daily Telegraph informed.
Police have questioned the man and warned him to stay away from Emma Watson. The man — aged in his 20s — followed Watson into some of the open lectures she attends.
The 16-year-old actress was appointed a private bodyguard as officers warned the stalker off campus.
“He left Emma alarmed when he approached her and started talking to her about the Potter films.”
“The school was informed and so were Emma’s parents. The decision was made to call in the police as the man was not known to her.”
The name and location of the school has not been released in respect of Watson’s privacy.
A friend of Watson told the Sun: “She will try not to let this change the way she has to live her day to day life, but obviously the priority is her safety.”
