According to Playfuls, Emma Watson, known to all as Hermione Granger, Hogwarts’ excellently prepared student and best friend to Harry Potter, has apparently decided to explore other acting possibilities.
According to co-star Rupert Grint, who plays Harry’s other best friend Ron Weasley, Emma is “tired of being known as ‘that girl from Harry Potter’”.
The teenager is also thought to be upset after attracting unwelcome attention from a stalker, which has necessited the protection of a bodyguard.
In 2001, when she first appeared as the over-accomplishing pupil of a wizard school in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” the girl was only 11. Since then, she has played in the following installments, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” (2002), “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004), : Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” (2005).
Filming of JK Rowling’s sixth book “Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince” is set to get underway in a matter of months.
Despite conflicting reports, the studio is confident that the 16-year-old will resume her famous role.
“We’re extremely confident that Emma will be back for films six and seven,” a spokesperson for Warner Bros. said on Monday.
