James Blunt and Petra Nemcova have split up. The “You’re Beautiful” singer and his model girlfriend were said to have drifted apart because of their busy careers.
The couple have not been seen together since the Oscars in February, when they went to Elton John’s bash.
According to Daily Mail, Petra, 27 – whose fiancee Simon Atlee died when they were caught in the Asian Tsunami in 2004 – is upset over the split but realised the relationship had come to an end.
A source told: “They are still on close terms as friends and they speak all the time.”
“James and Petra didn’t get to spend enough time together because their careers have kept them on different sides of the globe for much of the time.”
Nemcova and Blunt met in December 2005 and started dating the following year. In November 2006, rumors circulated that they’d split, but the couple denied the stories.
Blunt was the Czech model’s first serious relationship since her photographer boyfriend died in Thailand. Nemcova survived by clinging to a palm tree for eight hours, and suffered a broken pelvis.
