Heather Mills has back problems, can't rehearse · 2007-03-30 12:39
Heather Mills, the estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney, reached the second round of the US show “Dancing with the stars” after performing a daring back flip this week.
The former model said: “I wanted to show what I could do. I wanted to take the stigma away from the disability.”
Heather’s mambo routine with professional dance partner Jonathan Roberts scored highly with the judges and viewers, putting them in fifth place out of 11 couples after two performances.
But now she is struggling to continue in the show because of severe back problems. Heather has pulled out of hours of rehearsals for the show after the pain proved too much.
Mills has only been able to practice her dance routines for three hours a week, while the rest of the celebs rehearse for nearly 40 hours, Daily Mail informed.
Two metal plates in her pelvis, put in after she lost half her left leg in a car accident in 1993, are making things extremely uncomfortable for her.
She is worried they will impede her training and her performances, making it impossible to win the show.
She said: “I rehearsed for only three hours last week because my pelvis was really hurting. I thought I can push myself to a degree where my pelvis starts causing huge problems or I can take it easy. I decided against pushing too hard so I could only do three hours.”
“Thankfully when we were training for the show, before it started, we learned the routines for the first two weeks so I had already learned most of the mambo. But I doubt I'll stay in the show that long.”
