Fashion Television is the latest foreign cable network banned from India’s airwaves.
The Information & Broadcasting Ministry ruled that the network will be off the air for two months as punishment for “showing programming that goes against good taste and decency, denigrates women and are likely to adversely affect public morality,” Variety said Monday.
The ministry warned Fashion Television about its risque content last August.
The network in October responded by saying a softer version was available called FTV.com.
Fashion Television was banned also in February 2002 for vulgarity but apologized and returned after a week.
