Madonna’s husband British director Guy Ritchie had been expected to join the singer on a tour of orphanages in the southern African country, but she arrived in Malawi only with her 18-month-old adopted son David Banda and daughter Lourdes.
Baby David, who was adopted by celebrity couple last year, would be reunited with his father for the first time.
According to Daily Mail, Guy Ritchie didn’t join his wife, as “he thought the trip had disaster written all over it.”
“They were both very hurt over the way their adoption was criticised, and Guy thought it was too soon to be going back with a film crew,” Daily Mail quoted the family friend as saying.
Yohane Banda, a 32-year-old farmer who earns around ??50 per year, has not seen his son since Madonna picked David out six months ago as the child she wished to adopt and flew him back to Britain.
Sources in Malawi say he is determined to see his son and has been trying to raise funds to go to Britain to find him if Madonna did not bring him to Malawi.
