Tolkien has written a new book · 2007-04-19 16:44
When writer JRR Tolkien died in 1973, he left many of his works unfinished and unpublished.
The novel "Children of Hurin" started 99 years ago by the author is finally completed by his son, Christopher Tolkien, and released.
JRR Tolkien's son has been working for over 30 years on an edited version of "The Children of Hurin".
Tolkien's 82-year-old son has compiled it from manuscripts written by his father over half a century. He said he added no new material to it and remained true to his father's words and artistic intent.
“It has seemed to me for a long time that there was a good case for presenting my father’s long version of the legend … as an independent work, between its own covers,’ Christopher Tolkien said in a statement.
