A laptop computer containing still images of Anna Nicole Smith from her last movie has been stolen from the Vermont studio preparing to premiere it.
Early Thursday, three vandals broke into Edgewood Studios’ offices in Rutland and stole an employee’s MacBook contain ing not-for-release photos of Smith taken during the filming of “Illegal Aliens,” a campy sci-fi movie completed before her Feb. 8 death.
Filmmaker David Giancola said, “They basically smashed up the place but we’ve got them on video camera. There’s video cameras everywhere here. They don’t have the movie, thank God.”
Meanwhile, Smith’s mother and ex-boyfriend left a Bahamian court disappointed yesterday as the latest hearing in the custody dispute over the late Playboy Playmate’s infant daughter ended without resolution. Larry Birkhead, the baby’s father, said he hoped to be leaving the Bahamas “soon,” though the court set another hearing in the case for Wednesday.
All participants are prohibited by Bahamian legal rules from discussing details of the case. According to Boston Globe, Birkhead and Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, have tried to reach a visitation agreement that would end her legal attempt for custody of Dannielynn, who could inherit a fortune from the estate of her mother.
