The latest episode in the legal fight between Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger is not making either party look good, Playfuls reported.
Last week Alec Baldwin’s message for his 11-year-old daughter Ireland appeared on TMZ web site and shocked the audience.
Ireland, the couple’s only child from their marriage of eight years, is also the subject of a bitter custody battle.
In the voice mail message, Baldwin called his daughter a _“rude, thoughtless little pig”.
The actor has issued an apology, one that includes regret as well as some finger pointing to ex-wife Kim Basinger.
“I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.”
Last year, Basinger pleaded not guilty to contempt of court charges in Los Angeles for allegedly violating her child custody agreement with Baldwin.
The charges had been filed in late August by Baldwin’s attorney, claiming Basinger has repeatedly violated their child custody agreement and kept Ireland from talking on the telephone or visiting with her father.
As the battle goes on, Ireland still lives with her mother while her father has visitation rights.
