Rowling to have "Harry Potter" tour in USA · 2007-06-17 16:14

J.K. Rowling, Harry PotterJ.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" books, will go to the US in October for a book reading tour, including appearances in Hollywood, New York and New Orleans.

During "The J.K. Rowling Open Book Tour," which will be limited to schoolchildren, the author will meet with her fans; read from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the last in the series (due out next month); sign books, according to Scholastic, the publisher.

In September, Scholastic will select schools in Hollywood, New York and New Orleans that can send children to the events; students will be chosen by drawing names from "Sorting Hats" placed in each school, Los Angeles Times informs.

Rowling will also appear at a fourth event in New York on Oct. 19 at Carnegie Hall that is open to fans of all ages. Attendance, however, will be limited to those who win tickets in a lottery conducted by Scholastic.
