The wife of the prosecutor who fought to put Paris Hilton behind bars was until yesterday wanted on a nine-year-old arrest warrant for ducking court on her own driving violations.
Michelle Delgadillo turned herself in after the warrant and an unrelated smashup in her hubby's city car were exposed following City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo's hot pursuit of Paris.
She was sentenced to a year's probation and $431 in fines after pleading "no contest" to one count of driving without a license.
"This happened several years ago. I am very embarrassed," the 36-year-old wife of the city's top prosecutor said.
Michelle Delgadillo's warrant stemmed back to 1998, two weeks before she wed Rocky Delgadillo, when she was cited for driving with a suspended license in an unregistered vehicle ??“ without insurance, New York daily News informs.
