Author J.K. Rowling has penned the last word of “Harry Potter” book series.
“I just want to take a break. I really do,” she said.
Rowling has said that two characters die in her final book, due out July 21, and fans are wondering if Harry Potter himself might be one of them,
ABC News reports.
Rowling’s tales of magic have captivated readers since the first Harry Potter book was published a decade ago. The series has been a phenomenon with 325 million copies sold worldwide in 65 languages.
The big screen versions of the books have done extremely well, too. Five of the seven titles have been made into major motion pictures starring Daniel Radcliffe as Potter.
Radcliffe was a child actor when the series started. Now he’s aged along with all the other kids in the early episodes.
Even though Rowling has completed the book series, Potter fans still have some things to look forward to. The fifth Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” comes out July 11. Two more films will be released in the next few years. A Harry Potter theme park will open in Florida in 2010.
