Elvis' California home to be tourist draw · 2007-08-12 19:04

Elvis Presley, www.ptc.eduAn Elvis Presley fan wants to give the King's mansion a run for the money by refurbishing Elvis' California desert home as a tourist attraction.

The Spanish-style white stucco home in Palm Springs has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, with a sunken tub and a pool. Elvis and Priscilla Presley bought the home in 1970. The family, including daughter Lisa Marie, lived there part-time.

According to WMC-TV, the house is already a bit of a tourist draw.

Bill Davis, who owns Celebrity Tours in Palm Springs, says he gets asked about six times a day to see inside the Elvis House.

Right now, there's not much to see in the unfurnished home. But the new owner plans to decorate it in elaborate Elvis style. He also says he will build a wedding chapel, a banquet hall and a recording studio at the site.
