A 15-year-old boy, a girl aged 15, a 19-year-old man and a woman aged 18, arrested in connection with the murder of Rhys Jones have been released without charge. Two other people – a man aged 19 and 16-year-old boy – have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Liverpool schoolboy Rhys Jones, 11, was shot dead outside a pub in the Croxteth area of Liverpool on Wednesday. It was the latest crime in a spate of murders of young people this year that have focused attention on gang-related violence.
Police expressed concern at the lack of evidence from the public. Chief Superintendent Chris Armitt of Merseyside Police said he would protect people scared of reprisals from local gangs if they come forward Reuters UK reported.
