Nikolai Patrushev, bbc.co.uk On the meeting with heads of anti-terror commissions in the Far Eastern federal district on Monday Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) chief Nikolai Patrushev pointed out that 257 terror acts were registered in Russia in 2005, 112 – in 2006 and only 21 – in January-June of 2007.

He said, they still have concerns ”over growing terrorism-related crimes in the Southern federal district” and added that it is necessary to engage necessary forces and measures to stabilise the situation in the Caucasus and Russia’s southern regions.

High on the meeting’s agenda were also terrorism preventive tasks of regional anti-terror commissions and measures to upgrade protection of bioresources in the Far East, ITAR-Tass informed.
