Sir Elton John defended a photograph he owns that has been seized by cops who say it could be child porn.
A statement on his website said the picture by controversial snapper Nan Goldin had been shown all over the world.
It is thought to show two young girls ??“ one naked with her legs apart, The Sun reports.
Lawyers are deciding whether the photo, which was exhibited in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, breaches the 1978 Protection of Children Act.
The statement said the picture "has been widely published and exhibited without objections of which we are aware".
Goldin, 54, is well known for her shots of young, semi-clothed girls.
Her work has previously been the subject of police probes in London and France into depictions of child sexuality.
