Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Linkin Park and "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry's band copped three nods each when this year's American Music Awards nominations were released.
Rappers Akon, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Young Jeezy, T.I, country singers Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts, and "Idol" winner Carrie Underwood were honored with a deuce each, Boston Herald informs.
J.T. is up against Akon and Timbaland in the Pop-Rock genre's Male Artist category. And his album "FutureSex/LoveSounds" got a nod in both the Pop-Rock and Soul/Rhythm & Blues genre Album category.
Timberlake faces Daughtry's "Daughtry," and Linkin Park's "Minutes To Midnight" record in the Pop-Rock Album category. And Beyonce's "B'Day" and R. Kelly's Double Up" will compete in the race for the best Soul/Rhythm & Blues Album.
According to
Reuters, winners will be announced on November 18 during a ceremony held at the brand new Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The event traditionally had been held at the nearby Shrine Auditorium. Funnyman Jimmy Kimmel will host it.
