A police file on the shooting of two of Britain's rarest birds, about which Prince Harry has been questioned, is to be sent to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The Prince, who was shooting on the Royal Family's Sandringham estate when a conservation warden saw two hen harriers blasted out of the sky, has been interviewed by police but denied any knowledge of the crime. A conviction for killing a protected bird carries a maximum six-month jail sentence and a ??5,000 fine.
Prince Harry and a friend were asked about the shooting of the hen harriers, whose prey include game birds, last week. Three people, including a Natural England warden, had reported the killing. According to Times Online, neither the Prince nor his friend were questioned under caution.
