Russian is named most popular footballer in Europe · 2007-11-14 14:55
International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) published half-way voting results for the world's most outstanding footballer. Yegor Titov preponderated in the voting among Europeans.
IFFHS takes a vote on its site in order to mark the world's most outstanding footballer in 2007. The Federation chose 55 currently active footballers from 31 states. Yegor Titov, Moscow Spartak captain, became the only Russian in the list, Vzglyad reports.
It is noticed that the chose should be done on the base of footballers' fame, not because of their achievements last year.
1 847 222 men took part in the voting, 27 427 among them chose Titov. Spartak captain is the 5th in half-way voting results. It is interesting that he became most popular European footballer.
Mohamed Aboutreika from Egypt, Yasser Al-Qahtani from Saudi Arabia, Younis Mahmoud from Iraq, Rog`rio Ceni from Brazil are before Yegor Titov.
