With two female finalists in the running, this could be the season a woman finally walks away with the trophy and glory on ABC's top-rated ballroom competition "Dancing With the Stars."
The show, which will cha cha into the sunset tonight and Tuesday, is down to its final three star contestants and their dance partners: singer Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Mel B or Scary Spice) and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, racecar driver Helio Castroneves and partner Julianne Hough, and actress/singer Marie Osmond and partner Jonathan Roberts, DetNews.com informs.
Of the three finalists, Melanie Brown spins around the competition. But when she pulled out that whip last week for her paso doble, half of America probably was turned on and the other half terrified. She's fierce, but she lacks the on-camera warmth to win crucial viewer votes.
Indy 500 race car champ Helio Castroneves fumbled at first, but with the help of his partner, Julianne Hough, he found his footing and impressed judges and viewers alike with his charm and energy. But does the last man standing have the power to overcome the might of the seemingly 11 million man strong Osmond clan?
An underdog going into the competition, Marie surprised everyone with her work ethic. The string of personal travails ??“ a recent divorce, her father's death, a son in rehab and that mean Larry King ??“ made her the most sympathetic figure in the competition, Boston Herald reports.
