
Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Atari creator film · 2008-06-09 18:18
Leonardo DiCaprio is now scheduled to star in a film based on the life of Atari creator Nolan Bushnell.
Sold to Paramount Pictures Friday by writers Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman, Dicaprio is also set to produce the film through his Warner Bros based company, Appian Way, Actress Archives reports.
Considered the “godfather” of the video game industry, Bushnell founded Atari Games in the early 70’s and kick-started the home console generation with the game “Pong” and later with the revolutionary Atari 2600, making Atari the fastest-growing company in the history of American business.
As if that weren’t enough, Bushnell also created Chuck E Cheese Pizza Time Theaters.
According to Hecker and Sherman, the biographical film, “will [hopefully] play with elements from “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” and “Tucker: The Man and His Dream.”
