Evgeniya Kanaeva of Russia won the gold medal in the individual all-around competition of rhythmic gymnastics Saturday night at the Olympics.
Kanaeva compiled a total of 75.5 points for the four disciplines of ropes, hoops, clubs and ribbons. She became the third straight Russian to win gold in the event.
Inna Zhukova of Belarus finished second with 71.925 points, while Anna Bessonova of the Ukraine won the bronze medal with a score of 71.875.
Russian Olga Kapranova, who was third going into the final night of the event, finished in eighth place in the clubs portion and was fourth overall, Sports Network reports.
