Prince Harry and girlfriend Chelsy Davy split · 2009-01-26 14:46
Prince Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy Davy have ended their relationship.
The split, expected to be reported in Sunday’s newspapers, is said to have been “amicable” and follows discussions between the two of them in recent days.
The pair have known each other for five years and have parted on at least one previous occasion.
Clarence House has not made any official comment other than to say this is a private matter, BBC informs.
The separation comes as a surprise to some royal watchers because the pair vacationed in Mauritius only a few weeks ago.
Friends of Davy, however, told reporters that she grew tired of Harry’s lifestyle.
The couple carried on a long-distance relationship for most of the time while Harry, 24, was serving in the army and Davy was attending college in South Africa.
According to E! Online, the British royal, who is third in line to the crown, is training to become an Army helicopter pilot.
Zimbabwe-born Miss Davy, 23, is believed to be studying law on a post-graduate course at Leeds University.
