The coaches of Lada handball women team (Togliatti, Russia) made comments on changes that had happened earlier this season.
The previous main coach Alexei Gumyanov quitted after Lada had failed in winning several important matches.
The main coach of the team currently is Vyacheslav Kirilenko. Alexei Gumyanov became his assistant.
Vyacheslav Kirilenko is quite an experienced coach. Last year he headed Dinamo from Volgograd that won European Handball Federation Cup. He also was the leader of junior national team, the world champions in August, 2008. Some time the coach worked with the second team of Zvezda from little Moscow town Zvenigorod. According to his own words, Kirilenko knows handball perfectly and can do everything for team and players.
Vyacheslav Kirilenko adds that he “appreciates” his workfellow Gumyanov and “girls in the team like former leader.”
Alexei Gumyanov noticed he stayed working in club due two reasons. Firstly, the situation is rather difficult in the club and he decided to support the team. And secondly work with Vyacheslav Kirilenko seems to be a very interesting process for him.
Rasul Battalov, Lada handball club director, called Gumyanov’s decision to stay “wise”. He promised to do everything in order not to let ex-coach go away.
In general, two coaches wanted to create “the united team” that would be able to win Russia championship.
