With a glamorous display of togetherness as they posed arm in arm on the red carpet in Cannes last week, Brad Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie looked every inch the proverbial Hollywood golden couple.
Angelina looked resolute and happy as she stood firmly by her man’s side as he promoted his upcoming movie Inglourious Basterds in the French city, but according to recent reports this was a highly convincing façade.
In reality, the actress actually spent less than 36 hours in Cannes and very little time with her lover.
Onlookers also reportedly said that once the cameras stopped flicking at the premiere, Angelina’s smile disappeared and she furiously ran up the stairs of the theatre leaving a flustered Brad to run after her.
Far from being solid, the pair’s relationship is reportedly fraught with tension and rows due to Brad’s reluctance to cut ties with his former wife Jennifer Aniston, BBC reports.
Brad and Angelina’s relationship has already been the subject of gossip after claims that he secretly met with Jennifer last month, which apparently infuriated Angelina when she later found out.
Angelina had reportedly even threatened to pull out of going to France unless he promised to cut all ties with Jennifer who he divorced in 2005.
Sources believe there are no plans for Angelina and Brad, who have six children together – Maddox, seven, Pax, five, Zahara, four, Shiloh, three, and 10-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne, to spend time together over the next few weeks.
Brad is set to embark on an international tour to promote Inglourious Basterds before shooting a new movie, Moneyball, in Northern California and Angelina will be completing her movie, Salt, in New York.
However Brad has slammed the recent reports that his relationship is in trouble insisting that he is the “happiest” man and still very much in love with Angelina.
