Brad Pitt is laughing off a grassroots push to get him to run for mayor of New Orleans.
If chosen, would he serve? "Yeah, yeah," Pitt, 45, assured interviewer Ann Curry on Thursday's NBC Today show, as she held before him a T-shirt bearing a handsome rendering of his face and the printed slogan, "Brad Pitt for Mayor."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform," teased Brad. "I don't have a chance."
Apparently not getting the answer she was looking for, Ann asked yet again. And then again.
Pitt became pragmatic. "I don't have a chance." Well, he's got that right. Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie bought a home in N'awlins in 2007. But mayoral candidates have to be residents of the city for at least five years before they can run.
