The building of the 4th strategic nuclear submarine started in Russia. Nowadays shipwrights are working in the first sections of the future ship that is of the “Borei” class, officials said.
The interim name of the submarine is “Svyatitel Nicolai”. The official foundation ceremony will be probably timed by Submariner’s Day. It’s celebrated in Russia every year on the 19th of March.
At the same time Russia is building three more unique submarines – “Yuri Dolgoruki”, “Aleksander Nevsky” and “Vladimir Monomah”.
It is expected building of eight submarines of such class by 2015, Russian “Dni” informs.
