Evgeni Plushenko was judged unfairly in Vancouver · 2010-02-19 17:53
Producer Yana Rudkovskaya said her husband, great Russian skater Evgeni Plushenko, was judged unfairly at the Olympic Games in Vancouver. "To my mind, it's necessary to give protest. Nobody has done a quad and nobody has done a combination 4+3. It was Plushenko only who made them both", she said.
Yana Rudkovskaya added that Evgeni Plushenko was "the best for her as well as for all the Russians".
Evgeni Plushenko, 2006 Olympics gold champion, was the 1st after the short programme. But after the free programme the skater appeared to be the second. Vancouver's silver medalist was dissatisfied by the judgment and said that Russia should defend its' sportsmen like other countries do.
US' Evan Lysacek won gold, Gazeta.spb.ru reports.
Russian athletes are often judged unfairly. Just remember female skater Irina Slutstkaya, who was neglected twice ??“ in Salt Lake City as well as in Turin. Another example is Russian gymnast Aleksey Nemov ??“ the athlete was judged incorrectly in Athens in 2004. The judgment was so unfair that everybody understood it! The overcrowded stadium that was protesting against the Russian's low scores during 20 minutes!
