Ex-tennis star Jennifer Capriati's drug overdose was a suicide attempt over her failed career, it was claimed last night.
Jennifer, 34, was said to have accidentally taken too many prescription pills after she was found in a "dazed" state in exclusive Singer Island, Florida.
But friend and former US tennis star Justin Gimelstob said she had struggled to cope with depression.
He added: "With the focus on Wimbledon, that makes her feel even worse. She feels the tennis world deserted her."
Jennifer, who has a history of drug use, was a child prodigy who became the world No 1 female player.
Injuries ended her career in 2005, The Sun reports.
